What is ghosting?
Ghosting is a trail that follows a moving object; bright halos can instead be overdrive overshoot. Keep the refresh rate, scene and motion speed unchanged while comparing overdrive settings. Check normal game content too, because motion blur or temporal antialiasing can create similar traces. A browser pattern helps compare visible effects, not measure the panel’s advertised response time or certify its performance.
Controlled comparison
Use the native resolution and a comfortable brightness. Keep room lighting stable and disable night colour filters while comparing tones.
Change one setting at a time. Record resolution, refresh rate, connection and overdrive or VRR settings, then repeat the same content.
What the result means
These visual patterns are not laboratory measurements. Confirm repeatable observations in ordinary content. Colour accuracy and pixel response require suitable instruments.
