Choose a guide by the symptom, not a marketing label
A fixed dot, an angle-dependent corner glow, a dark motion trail and a horizontal frame split require different checks. Begin with the closest visible symptom, keep brightness and refresh settings stable, and use the false-positive section before naming a panel defect.
Turn one observation into a repeatable comparison
Record the model, connection, native resolution, refresh rate, brightness and room conditions. Change one setting at a time and repeat the same pattern. A browser can display controlled colours and motion, but it cannot measure colour error, luminance or pixel transitions with laboratory accuracy.
