Open related testIPS glow vs backlight bleed
IPS glow is an angle-dependent haze that appears mostly on dark backgrounds.
Backlight bleed behaves more like a fixed light leak from a corner or edge.
- Many users call every dark-scene brightness problem bleed even when the panel is showing normal IPS behavior.
How to test it
Open a black or near-black full-screen image.
Dim the room lights.
- Check the screen from your normal position and then from different angles.
When is it a problem?
A little glow is normal on many IPS panels.
A corner that stays obviously brighter in all conditions is more concerning.
- Phone photos often exaggerate the effect.
